Abstract

Melakukan komunikasi dengan karya sastra, sebenarnya pembaca dituntut untuk menemukan makna secara kreatif dan dinamis, karena pembaca merupakan satu-satunya pelaku yang menciptakan pertalian antara teks, penafsir, interteks dan dalam batinnya juga berlangsung transfer semiotik dari tanda yang satu ke tanda yang lain secara terus menerus.Pengkajian novel “Surat Kecil untuk Tuhan Karya Agnes Davonar†menggunakan kajian semiotik dengan tujuan penelitian nya adalah mendeskripsikan ikon, indeks dan simbol.Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptifanalis berbentuk kualitatif artinya mendeskripsikan bentuk semiotikberupa kata-kata, frasa, kalimat, maupun paragraf yang ada dalam novel. Berdasarkan hasil analisis ditemukan 41 kutipan yang menunjukkan ikon, diantaranya ikon onomatope, ikon topologis, ikon diagramatis, dan ikon metaforis. Kemudian, ada 20 kutipan yang menunjukkan indeks. Serta 21 kutipan yang menunjukkan simbol. Adapun simbol tersebut yaitu simbol dari tata surya, simbol dari sifat, simbol dari singkatan, simbol dari fisik seseorang.
