Menumbuhkan Literasi Menuju Masyarakat Cerdas: Pengabdian untuk Peningkatan Kesadaran dan Kompetensi Literasi

Kompetensi literasi merupakan kompetensi esensial bagi setiap individu. Kemampuan literasi yang baik dapat mengarahkan individu untuk dapat berpikir secara lebih bijak, cermat, serta kreatif dan inovatif. Namun demikian, kompetensi literasi sebagian masyarakat pelajar di Kabupaten Lebak, Banten masih belum optimal. Tujuan pelaksanaan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kompetensi literasi masyarakat pelajar SD, SMP, dan SMA di Kabupaten Lebak, Banten. Jumlah siswa tiap-tiap satuan pendidikan yang mengikuti kegiatan pendampingan literasi adalah sebanyak 20. Metode pendampingan yang dilakukan terdiri dari tiga tahap yaitu: perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan monitoring dan evaluasi. Perencanaan dilakukan dengan cara melakukan observasi awal melalui kegiatan tes dan nontes. Kegiatan pelaksanaan dilakukan dengan cara memberikan pemahaman serta praktik literasi membaca dan menulis. Kegiatan monitoring dilakukan dengan cara memantau progres kompetensi para peserta dalam berliterasi membaca menulis. Kegiatan pendampingan yang telah dilakukan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan para peserta dalam literasi reseptif dan produktif pada masyarakat pelajar Kabupaten Lebak, Banten. Para peserta mampu merefleksikan hasil literasi reseptif dalam berbagai karya kreatif sebagai wujud dari kompetensi produktif.
