Abstract
This research aims to develop the JRT-Freestyle Swimming Test (JRT-FST) instrument for measuring the freestyle swimming skills of sports students in lecture activities. This research is more focused on creating and validating the product's suitability as a test instrument for basic freestyle swimming skills. The research design adopted the Borg and Gall model which focuses on product creation with two expert validation tests using a value scale questionnaire. Research data was analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis techniques. Research results: (a) final product of the development of the JRT-Freestyle Swimming Test (JRT-FST), (b) Based on the validation results of the three experts, namely (expert 1: 47, expert 2: 47, expert 3: 49) and is in the calculation category interval (µ+1.0σ) ≤ X = 37 ≤ X or suitable category, so that the JRT-Freestyle Swimming Test (JRT-FST) is "Appropriate" to be used as an instrument to test sports students freestyle swimming skills.
