KEMAMPUAN PEMAHAMAN MATEMATIK SISWA SMP MELALUI PENERAPAN PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE STAD

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman matematik siswa melaui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah eksperimen dengan rancangan penelitiannya adalah one group pretest-posttest design. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa pada kelas VIII B SMP Negeri 5 Sungai Kakap. Analisis data dengan menggunakan skor gain ternormalisasi menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa tergolong sedang. Hasil posttest menunjukkan bahwa 10,3% siswa berada pada kemampuan 0 artinya belum memiliki pemahaman walaupun pada tingkat translasi; 30,8% siswa berada pada kemampuan I yang artinya sudah memiliki pemahaman tingkat translasi; 17,9% siswa berada pada kemampuan II yang artinya telah memiliki pemahaman tingkat translasi dan interpolasi; dan 41,0% siswa berada pada kemampuan III yang artinya siswa telah memahami semua soal baik tingkat translasi, interpolasi maupun ekstrapolasi.
