Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menjelaskan variasi alih kode dan campur kode, faktor penyebab yang menjadi penentu alih kode dan campur kode, serta dampak penggunaan kode terhadap pengajaran bahasa Indonesia. Metode yang digunnakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif menggunakan pendekatan sosiolingiustik dan merupakan sebuah penelitian lapangan (field research). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari dasar penggunaan bahasa diperoleh dua variasi, yaitu (1) alih kode dan campur kode dengan kode dasar BI, (2) alih kode dan campur kode dengan kode dasar BMS. Faktor-faktor penentu alih kode pada masyarakat tutur MMS di Kota Pontianak. Pertama berdasarkan situational code-switching, kedua metaphorical code-switching.
