STRATEGI PEMBELAJARAN UNTUK MENINGKATKAN SKOR TOEFL MAHASISWA MENGGUNAKAN PENDEKATAN PEMBELAJARAN TUNTAS

Penelitian ini merupakan upaya untuk meningkatkan skor TOEFL mahasiswa program studi bahasa inggris STKIP-PGRI Pontianak dengan menerapkan pendekatan pembelajaran tuntas atau mastery learning.Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah kelompok mahasiswa dari dua kelas paralel (Kelas Pagi dan Kelas Sore) semester genap (VI) yang diacak menjadi satu kelas experiment dan satu kelas control.Focus group interview juga digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data dari mahasiswa.Untuk mengetahui apakah ada pengaruh pengajaran diagnostic dilakukan analisis korelasional dan Uji T.Dari hasil penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa pengajaran TOEFL menggunakan metode diagnostic teaching dengan pendekatan pembelajaran tuntas memberikan hasil yang lebh baik dalam meningkatkan nilai TOEFL mahasiswa karena Nilai t hitung lebih besar dari t tabel (4,323 > 2,000) dan nilai signifikansinya lebih kecil dari taraf signifikansi 0,05 (0,000<0,05).
