Abstract

Karya sastra adalah kisah kehidupan manusia yang penuh lika-liku. Pengungkapan realitas kehidupan tersebut menggunakan bahasa yang indah, sehingga dapat menyentuh emosi pembaca. Dalam penelitian ini peneliti menggunakan pendekatan sosiologi sastra untuk mengkaji novel Perempuan Jogja karya Achmad Munif. Penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan keadaan social budaya masyarakat dalam novel Perempuan Jogja karya Achmad Munif. Selain itu peneliti juga ingin mengungkapkan beberapa permasalahan tentang suatu kehidupan manusia dalam hubungannya dengan sesama dan lingkunganya yang diwujudkan secara rinci oleh pengarang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif. Kesimpulan dalam novel Perempuan Jogja untuk konteks sosial pengarang dapat dilihat pada tokoh Rumanti yang peneliti gambarkan pada Novel Perempuan Jogja karya Achmad Munif. Sedangkan gambaran masyrakat yang tercermin dalam kutipan-kutipan seperti mengenal perjodohan, masyarakat yang masih kental dengan adat istiadat, menggambarkan bahwa kekuasaan mengalahkan kemiskinan.
