PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA MAHASISWA PROGRAM STUDI BAHASA INGGRIS DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN TASK BASED LEARNING

Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan mahasiswa Prodi Bahasa Inggris Semester 1 di IKIP PGRI Pontianak dengan menggunakan Task Based Learning. Adapun metode yang digunakan adalah Action Research. Bentuk penelitian adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa semester I Prodi Bahasa Inggris IKIP PGRI Pontianak tahun akademik 2015/2016. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada 6 Juli sampai dengan 3 Oktober 2016. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu teknik observasi langsung dan alat pengumpul data yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi dan teknik komunikasi tidak langsung berupa angket. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh simpulan bahwa metode Task Based Learning memiliki dampak positif dalam meningkatkan prestasi belajar mahasiswa yang ditandai dengan peningkatan ketuntasan belajar mahasiswa dalam setiap siklus, yaitu siklus I (65,63%) dan siklus II (87,50%).
