GAYA BELAJAR MAHASISWA PROGRAM STUDI PENDIDIKAN BAHASA INGGRIS

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan informasi gaya belajar mahasiswa tahun pertama Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris IKIP PGRI Pontianak tahun ajaran 2014/2015. Bentuk penelitian ini adalah studi kasus deskriptif. Data yang dianalisis pada penelitian ini bersumber dari jawaban mahasiswa pada kuesioner index of learning styles yang didesain oleh Felder dan Soloman. Hasil temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dari 84 orang mahasiswa secara keseluruhan terdistribusi dengan jumlah yang berbeda menurut dimensi belajarnya; active/reflective, sensing/intuitive, visual/verbal, dan sequential/global. Hasil ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa secara keseluruhan mahasiswa terdistribusi lumayan seimbang untuk ketiga pasang dimensi gaya belajar (active/reflective, sensing/intuitive, dan sequential/global); namun tidak sama halnya dengan dimensi visual/verbal, dimanat terdapat rentang yang sangat besar antara jumlah kedua dimensi. Mahasiswa sebagian besar termasuk ke dalam kelompok dimensi visual learners.
