PERSEPSI MAHASISWA TERHADAP MATRIKULASI MAHASISWA BARU

Penelitian studi kasus ini dimaksudkan untuk mendapatkan gambaran tentang bagaimana persepsi mahasiswa baru Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris IKIP-PGRI Pontianak tahun akademik 2015/2016 terhadap kegiatan matrikulasi yang dikutinya. Data penelitian diperoleh dengan teknik wawancara terhadap 20 mahasiswa baru peserta matrikulasi yang menjadi sampel penelitian ini dan dengan teknik dokumentasi lembar kerja peserta matrikulasi. Dengan menggunakan analisis data model Miles & Huberman (1994) terhadap data transkripsi wawancara dan dokumen, diperoleh simpulan atas persepsi mereka bahwa 1) materi matrikulasi yang berkaitan dengan perkuliahan dan materi perkuliahan sangat penting bagi mahasiswa baru dalam mendapatkan bekal sikap, pengetahuan, dan ketrampilan sebelum mengikuti perkuliahan; 2) metode/teknik penyampaian materi dengan permainan disukai peserta karena menarik dan membantu peserta memahami dan memperoleh pengetahuan dan keterampilan baru dengan lebih efektif serta memungkinkan terjadinya interaksi antar-peserta untuk saling mengenal; 3) penguasaan materi penyaji/dosen sudah memadai dan membantu peserta memahami materi; dan 4) materi yang diperoleh selama matrikulasi memberi manfaat ketika mereka mengikuti perkuliahan.
