Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan struktur dan fungsi pantun dalam upacara adat perkawinan Melayu Sambas Desa Sungai Baru Kecamatan Teluk Keramat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif yaitu mendeskripsikan diksi, pengimajian, figuratif, dan fungsi pada pantun adat perkawinan Melayu Sambas desa Sungai Baru kecamatan Teluk Keramat. Adapun sumber data dalam penelitian ini yaitu informan yang disebut muhakam. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah model interaktif. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu diksi, terdiri dari makna denotasi dan konotasi; pengimajian, terdiri 2 imaji; kata konkret, ditemukan kata-kata yang memberikan arti secara keseluruhan kepada pembaca; bahasa figuratif, terdiri dari 4 majas; rima; berdasarkan bunyi dan berdasarkan letak kata-kata dalam baris; dan fungsi pantun.
